My research is focused on the practice of Christian evangelism and its formulations as proclamation, dialogue, drama, demonstration and liberation within pluralistic societies over the last century. A consideration of love and the various interpretations of its import for evangelistic theology and practice plays a central part in this project.

In particular, I am exploring how different understandings of Christian love have been variously prioritised within the evangelistic types of proclamation, dialogue, drama, demonstration and liberation, how such conceptions of love are being challenged by contemporary concerns surrounding individual and communal autonomy, and the extent to which these concerns should influence the conception and performance of Christian evangelism in the globalised world.
