Humanities in New Haven

While the academic offerings of the Humanities Program only touch a limited audience of students, our faculty also aim at wider engagement with the wider Yale and New Haven community. Below are a number of projects and initiatives directed towards all residents of New Haven - not all affilitated with the University - in which members of the Humanities community are engaged.

Citizens-Thinkers-Writers is a two-week summer residential program at Yale University for rising seniors from New Haven public schools who are interested in exploring fundamental human questions in a college setting.

The Whitney Humanities Center embodies Yale University’s longstanding commitment to the humanities. The Center hosts a wide array of events including public lectures, film screenings, and artist exhibitions.
