Humanities in New Haven

In addition to providing a rich intellectual experience to undergraduates, the faculty of the Humanities Program are also involved in initiatives to engage with the broader New Haven community. Below are a number of projects directed towards serving New Haven residents where the our community members play an active role.  

Citizens Thinkers Writers is a two-week summer residential program and year-long fellowship program at Yale University for rising seniors from New Haven public schools who are interested in exploring fundamental human questions in a college setting. 

The Whitney Humanities Center embodies Yale University’s longstanding commitment to the humanities. The Center hosts a wide array of events including lectures, film screenings, artist exhibitions, and concerts open to the public.
