Fall Core Seminars Announced [Updated]

The Humanities Program is excited to announce FOUR core seminars for the Fall of 2021. 

Professor Gary Tomlinson will be teaching Western Philosophy in Four Operas 1600-1900

Professor Maurice Samuels will be teaching The World of Victor Hugo’s “Les Misérables”

Professor Howard Bloch and Professor Pierre Saint-Amand will be teaching Proust’s Remembrance of Things Past

Professor Steven Smith will be teaching Machiavelli and Machiavellianism - NOTE: This course requires preregistration. Details included on the page.

NOTE: For HUMS Majors, anticipated Spring Seminars include:  Claude McKay (Interpretations); Sainte Chapelle (Interpretations), Film and Everyday life 1895-1930 (Modernities), and Maimonides and Postmodernism (Modernities). This year we are experimenting with more courses than usual.
