Hums 096: Collecting History: "Treasures" of Yale

Wednesday 1pm-4pm
Instructor: Anna Franz
This course considers the concept of “treasure” by visiting nearly all of Yale’s galleries, museums, and library special collections. We explore questions around how these objects and materials were created, how they came to be at Yale, and the considerations and compromises that make up collections of cultural heritage materials. We learn what these objects say about themselves, their creators, their users, and their collectors.
